Today it was announced that the Statue of Liberty’s symbolic torch will be replaced by a glowing, raised middle finger in order to more accurately reflect the modern American spirit.

The decision comes not even two years after the culturally-outdated poem “The New Colossus” was replaced with “Hit the Road Jack” at the site of the statue.

Talks are already underway to replace “Hit the Road Jack” with the even more appropriate “fuck you, I got mine.”

Not only would the quote more accurately reflect our modern times, it would also better represent our culture’s repudiation of art.
