George Lucas is filing a lawsuit against History, claiming the channel fueled his belief in the Mayan 2012 doomsday prophecy, which prompted him to sell the Star Wars franchise to Disney last year.
“I would have never sold the license to my beloved creation if History hadn’t misled me,” said Lucas.
“Now I am forced to sit back and watch while a story that means so much to me is manipulated and milked for as much cash as possible,” Lucas added without sensing the irony. “It makes me sick.”
Disney purchased the Star Wars franchise, with the exception of Jar Jar Binks, claiming the character was “unsuitable for children,” for $4 billion dollars in October 2012.
Lucas expected the world to end just two months later due to History’s academically-deficient programming.
