Sony has unveiled plans for a movie adaptation of Kim Kardashian’s book of selfies Selfish.
Names attached to the project suggest that Sony is aiming to make the $300 million movie a true Oscar contender.
The trilogy will be produced by Peter Jackson, with the first film being directed by Gravity director Alfonso Cuarón.
“The first film will be one long continuous shot from the perspective of the camera phone, who is the true hero in this tale,” said Cuarón. “This is, at its core, a deep and timeless tale of finding belonging in the universe and coming to grips with one’s planned obsolescence.”
Natalie Portman has been cast in the starring role of Kardashian while Chiwetel Ejiofor is expected to portray Kanye West.
Portman said preparation for the role has been the most challenging of her career.
“The first night I began practicing my lines I passed out from the exhaustion of just attempting to suppress my talent,” said Portman. “This role could be the death of me.”
Not at all stepping out of his comfort zone, Christian Bale has been tapped to narrate the film as the voice of the camera phone.
Newcomer Caitlyn Jenner will make her acting debut in the role of Kardashian’s stepfather, in a move which film critics are hailing as brave.
