
Amazon is facing criticism and boosted e-reader sales thanks to a bold new viral campaign of setting the Amazon rainforest ablaze.
The strategy, which leads to more Google searches for “Amazon fire,” and thus sales, is as controversial as the Amazon Fire’s many offerings are essential for the modern reader.
“Other industries have long relied on the controversial strategy of producing news-worthy events to drive sales with related Google searches,” said advertising guru Barry Manilow.
In 2017, Nintendo broke video game sales records thanks to campaign where it funded several school shootings.
Parents were obviously pretty upset with the necessary cleanup that was involved thanks to Nintendo’s aggressive Splatoon 2 ad campaign, but in retrospect it was pretty funny.
