WASHINGTON D.C.—At 8:30 pm EST, former presumptive presidential nominee and comedian Donald Trump signed a change.org petition urging the Electoral College to break from tradition and side with the popular vote by electing Hillary Clinton as president.

Trump campaign manager Kellyanne Conway released a statement that they are cautiously optimistic that it’s not too late to throw the election.

“Despite our best efforts we find ourselves in this vulnerable position,” said Conway. “Trump has long maintained that the electoral college is a disaster. He will not stand by and allow this Democratic tragedy to unfold. We believe that this petition gives the American people one last window to escape out of before we burn this motherfucker down.”
