More than 20 theatergoers were killed or seriously injured after the character Deadpool shattered the fourth wall during his movie’s opening night.

An eyewitness reported that he and the other surviving audience members thought the event added an unexpected level of immersion bordering on IMAX 3D.

Twentieth Century Fox’s public relations experts were quick to get ahead of the massacre and quickly began bragging about the new film technology on Twitter.

At press time, authorities were seeking Ryan Reynolds for questioning and maybe an autograph.
