Republican presidential candidate and Texas Senator Ted Cruz accidentally revealed that he is the Zodiac Killer at a town hall event in Tallahassee, Fla.

A reporter in the crowd asked the candidate to comment on a recent Public Policy Polling survey that found 38 percent of surveyed Floridians were either unsure or believed that Cruz was the Zodiac Killer.

Cruz nervously laughed and then proceeded to stammer through a response focused on different issues before abruptly cutting the event an hour and a half short.

The candidate then hurried back stage and began to calm himself down before the stage crew could cut the audio feed from his microphone.

“Get it together, Cruz,” Cruz could be heard saying. “No one suspects you. They think you were too young. That life is behind you now.”

Another voice could then be heard informing the candidate that “you can’t run from me, I never left you.”

An audibly distressed Cruz whimpered “God, please make it stop” before the mic feed was finally cut.

At press time, Cruz’s favorability among likely Florida voters was up on the news.
